Stained & Rough Plaster:
Chemically washing and sanding the existing plaster finish can make a world of difference in the appearance and texture of your existing pool plaster. Staining can be caused by the untreated presence of heavy metals, such as iron, manganese and copper, in the pool water. These metals can occur naturally in water (especially well water) or may have been introduced into the pool, as a result of corrosion.
No need to re-plaster, however, the pool must be drained and re-filled.
